The mehndi is where the wedding truly begins — music, colour, laughter and intricate henna long into the night. But between the artist, the décor, the food and the favours, a mehndi function can quietly cost as much as a small wedding on its own.
This free Mehndi Budget Calculator adds up every part of your mehndi in seconds. Enter your guest count and a few costs, and it shows your total spend and the cost per guest instantly — all in your browser, no signup, nothing stored.
The Mehndi Budget Calculator estimates the complete cost of your mehndi function by splitting it into the parts that actually drive the bill: the henna artist or artists, décor and seating, the outfits, music and entertainment, food, guest favours and a small buffer.
Some costs are fixed no matter how many guests attend, while food and favours scale with your headcount. The calculator separates the two, so you see both your total mehndi budget and a realistic cost per guest.
A mehndi is easy to underestimate because the costs hide across many small items. This tool helps you:
The calculator groups costs into two kinds. Fixed costs — the artist, décor, outfits, music and a miscellaneous buffer — stay the same regardless of headcount. Variable costs — food and favours — are charged per guest.
It multiplies your per-guest costs by the number of guests, adds the fixed costs, and shows the grand total. Dividing the total by your guest count gives the cost per guest. Change any figure and everything recalculates instantly.
The calculation is:
Example: 100 guests with food ₹400 and favours ₹150 per guest gives ₹55,000 variable. With ₹15,000 artist, ₹25,000 décor, ₹20,000 outfit, ₹10,000 music and ₹5,000 buffer (₹75,000 fixed), the total is ₹1,30,000, or ₹1,300 per guest.
Example 1 — Intimate home mehndi: 60 guests, food ₹300 and favours ₹100 per guest (₹24,000), plus ₹10,000 artist, ₹8,000 décor, ₹12,000 outfit, no music and ₹3,000 buffer. Total about ₹57,000, roughly ₹950 per guest.
Example 2 — Mid-size mehndi: 150 guests, food ₹450 and favours ₹150 (₹90,000), plus ₹20,000 artist, ₹40,000 décor, ₹25,000 outfit, ₹20,000 music and ₹10,000 buffer. Total about ₹2,05,000, near ₹1,367 per guest.
Example 3 — Grand mehndi: 300 guests, food ₹600 and favours ₹250 (₹2,55,000), plus a bigger fixed spend of ₹1,50,000. Total about ₹4,05,000, around ₹1,350 per guest — showing how food dominates at scale.
