What actually drives wedding cost in Chandigarh
The tricity spread
Venues in Mohali and Panchkula typically quote below equivalent venues in Chandigarh proper. Since the whole tricity is a short drive, moving outward costs guests very little inconvenience and can save meaningfully.
Resort venues on the highways
The Zirakpur and Kharar belts have a large supply of resort-style venues. Competition here is genuine, which means quoted rates are usually negotiable in a way that central hotel banquets are not.
Sangeet production is taken seriously
Entertainment and lighting are a bigger cultural priority here than in most of our other cities. Budget for it deliberately rather than letting it appear as an overrun.
Winter fog is a real planning factor
Late-December and January mornings can disrupt travel and outdoor photography. Many local families plan around it — worth doing if your guests are travelling in.
Where Chandigarh couples actually save money
